What’s biting, when?
July, August, September, October
The summer months are the most diverse time of year for fishing and an excellent time for fishing for all of the species at once. I call it, SLAM time! This is the best time of year to target what I call slams, or catching three of the major game species in one day. Usually, this would include fishing for juvenile Tarpon, Bonefish, and then hunting for Permit. Snook and Redfish are around as well and can help make it a grand slam day!
December, January, February
This is the time of year when we bend the rod, have fun, and lose count of how many fish we’ve caught. These are months where it is possible to catch 12 different species in a single day! Big sharks on light tackle is a daily occurrence and catching some meat from Triple tail, Red Fish, or Trout to bring home for dinner is also on the table. This is the time of year to bring the kids, I promise they will be begging to come back!
